nelson-corduroy
NELSON CORDUROY

An original, iconic trench coat derived from military wear. The trench coat features a slim silhouette, ankle-length, with a double-breasted closure featuring five rows of buttons. By lifting the storm flap, a button underneath allows the lapel to be closed to the very top and the storm flap to be secured over it to ensure the opening is watertight. The collar has a hook on the tab and a chin strap equipped with a buckle and buttons. The eyelets on the belt and chin strap, to prevent damage from the metal prong of the hand-covered leather buckles, are reinforced with metal grommets; these are also found on the cuff straps. The belt features metal D-rings, which originally served to hook hand grenades, and the buttoned epaulettes on the shoulders allowed for securing the straps of binoculars, muskets, canteens, and anything else that needed to be kept secure during a rapid enemy attack. The trench coat, in fact, is a garment that has come down to us unchanged from the traditions of the First World War, being, as the name implies, a trench garment.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0906/9861/3049/files/1_7f32053f-7eba-4bbf-abf8-0f9e7652ffff.jpg?v=1790850323
